Main Festival Workshops at Arsenal
I will be leading workshops in African dance and Afrofusion, each designed to cater to different age groups and interests:
Afrofusion Dance (60+)
Schedule: Week 1, July 15 – July 19, 2024

Details: This workshop is a celebration of life and movement, echoing the traditions of Southern Africa. We’ll sing, clap, stomp, and explore the diverse dance styles that have traveled from rural areas to urban streets across the region.
African Dance Workshop
Schedule: Week 3, July 29 – August 2, 2024
Time: 6:15 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Arsenal C+
Details: Dive into the exhilarating world of African dance with me. This workshop focuses on traditional and ritual dances from South Africa, emphasizing the joyous synchronization of drum rhythms with movement. It’s a perfect blend of cultural heritage and physical expression, suitable for all levels.
Afrofusion Dance (Ages 7-12)
Schedule: Week 4, August 5 – August 9, 2024
Time: 12:15 PM – 2:15 PM
Location: Dschungel 1
Details: Specifically designed for children ages 7 to 12, this workshop mixes traditional African dance with modern styles. We will engage with music and stories from Zimbabwe, creating a playful and immersive experience that encourages creativity and movement in a fun and supportive environment.
Public Moves – Free Outdoor Dance Classes
Duration: May 30 – August 9, 2024
Details: As part of the Public Moves initiative, I will also be involved in offering free dance classes outdoors. These classes are open to participants of all ages and skill levels, with no prior experience necessary. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy dance in the beautiful settings of Vienna and beyond.
